Dear guests, dear Morteratsch- friends, dear wine drinkers
We love wine and variety. Approximately every 6 weeks we hold a small wine tasting with Maurizio Scorza Belvino from Silvaplana at the Hotel Morteratsch and introduce you to new winemakers and new wines. The wines presented will then be offered by the glass over the following 6 weeks. All wine enthusiasts and those who enjoy exploring are invited to the tasting, it is free.
Thomas Häntsch writes: “Wine is a novel that the winemaker writes with the grapes”. What a beautiful idea. We like reading, wine and variety. Who else?
A very wise man once said: wine is just as important as good food. That's exactly how we see it and cultivate a beautiful tradition of a large selection of open wines.
We have prepared the following discoveries for you for the current winter season:
- At the December 16th Paolo Conterno comes by personally to present his fantastic wines from Piedmont and Tuscany. A small man with huge charisma and a great passion for good wine. A wonderful Langhe Arneis, a Barbera and even a Barolo await you by the glass.
- At the January 20th we would like to introduce you to the Azienda Agricola Pratello from Lago di Garda. The trademark? Excellent wine and a red mini on the label.
- At the February 17th Let's taste wines from Tuscany together. Do you also dream of holidays in the beautiful hills? Yes, these wines awaken our holiday dreams. There are wonderful wines presented by the Tenuta Sette Cieli and the Castello del Terriccio. Wines that are otherwise almost never available by the glass…
At the March 16th we will take you to Austria. Austria? Yes, Austria. For those who don't yet know the wines of our eastern neighbors: it's definitely worth tasting the fine wines from Gobelsburg Castle in the Kamptal.
These tastings are open to anyone interested and, as mentioned, free of charge. We would of course be happy if you combined this with a fine dinner in the restaurant. here go to table reservation.
We look forward to numerous visits.
Kind regards, your Morteratsch team
