At lower altitudes, summer is already approaching. At higher altitudes, you have another chance to enjoy spring. Here are 10 tips for mountain spring in the Engadin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a wonderful time, spring. Nature recovers from the winter hardships and shows its most beautiful side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Engadin, at almost 2,000 metres above sea level, spring always comes a little later, depending on the temperatures from mid-May (until June). But, as the saying goes: good things take time. And the little patience you have to use for the Engadin mountain spring is definitely worth it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We Engadin people love this time. Here you will find 10 tips why the mountain spring in the Engadin is worth it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. The proximity to the King of the Alps, the\u00a0Capricorn\u00a0<\/strong>(May): Every year the wild animals come in droves to the edge of the village of Pontresina to enjoy the first green stalks. A real experience when you can watch the ibexes as they eat, how they climb and how they interact with each other. Sometimes peaceful, sometimes their horns meet\u2013 fascinating! And so approachable. Make yourself\u00a0here<\/a>\u00a0a picture yourself.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. The Spring-Hike\u00a0<\/strong>(May and June): there are numerous hiking trails in the well-connected Engadin, on which you can immerse yourself in the beauty of the landscape. The paths are mostly free of snow and nature is slowly awakening from its winter sleep. A beautiful hike is, for example, the\u00a0Glacier Trail<\/a>\u00a0Morteratsch, which takes you to the glacier tongue.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. The Ride a bike<\/strong>: Either zoom along the empty trails on your bike or ride your racing bike along the quiet streets; there is also an incredible amount to discover on two wheels. But be careful: it is not that warm yet and good clothing is recommended in any case.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. The Forests<\/strong>: the trees, in many places in the Engadin larches, are also awakening to new life. Observe the pretty fresh shoots on the branches and watch the squirrels having fun in the treetops.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. The Quiet<\/strong>: In May and June, the Engadin is still relatively uncrowded. The crowds only return in early July. If you prefer a quieter time, spring is your perfect travel time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. The Freshness<\/strong>: Fresh, sour, clean and wonderful mountain air awaits you in the Engadin at any time of year. Now, in spring, it is especially nice to enjoy the freshness. It can happen that May, or even June, will bring snow again. But one thing is certain: here you can get some really fresh air before a hot summer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
