In 1929, Arnold Francks&#039; mountain film classic was filmed here on the Morteratsch-Gletcher \u00ab<em>The white hell of Piz Pal\u00fc\u00bb.<\/em>&nbsp;A silent film that shows not only the beauty but also the dangers of the mountains. Steep walls, avalanches, the famous crevasses and glacier caves\u2013 all of this radiates unearthly beauty and fascination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What fascinates you about the glacier?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>I think it is the mixture of beauty and danger that draws me so much to this place. It is the constant transformation of a rather alien ice world that amazes. For my ears there is nothing more fascinating than hearing how the glacier follows its natural change. The rolling stones give my ears an unforgettable sound-landscape and shows us how small we actually are compared to the whole world.&nbsp;<em>(Alai, receptionist)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Hotel Morteratsch \u2013 is the ideal starting point<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Our house is located at the foot of the glacier moraine. As soon as the first rays of sun appear behind the mountain, our terrace offers the ideal place to let the experience sink in. Don&#039;t forget the dangers!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>When the glacier melts,&nbsp;<strong>Glacier caves<\/strong>&nbsp;and seracs (ice storms), which are very impressive. They are also caused by movement, gravity and pressure. This year, a small new cave has formed on the tongue of the glacier-. The glacier-Cave is a very sensitive place for a glacier.
