Local specialties and more, almost everything homemade – the restaurant at the foot of the Morteratsch glacier in Pontresina

We are happy to share our passion for enjoyment with our guests. Let yourself be inspired by the impressive mountain landscape and pampered by our magical employees. The hostess Julia Bohren and the head chef Mirko Thieme wish you a pleasant experience!

This is how we cook

We cook dishes from here, seasonal, regional and uncomplicated. We rely on Swiss meat and fish, and source our goods locally from farmers, winemakers, butchers, bakers and small producers wherever possible. We value personal exchanges very much. The evening menu is always supplemented with the menu for our half-board guests. And we have just put together a beautiful autumn menu. 

We work with numerous suppliers from the Engadin and the Puschlav. They are not wholesalers, but people with an enormous passion for what they do. An example of this is the Puschlaver Zanetti Butcher Shop, which has been producing and selling local fresh meat and meat specialties of the highest quality for over 100 years. We source our coffee from Café Badilatti, Zuoz the highest coffee roasting plant in Europe. The eggs are from happy hens from Bio-Hof Azienda Pedretti in Puschlav, the cheese from the Pontresina Dairy, etc.

Combine a trip to the breathtaking Val Morteratsch, with its impressive mountain scenery and its easily accessible glacier, with a visit to our restaurant, located directly on the Pontresina-Morteratsch railway line of the Rhaetian Railway.

Opening hours

Our restaurant is open daily from 8:00 AM to approximately 9:30 PM during the season.

We serve dishes from the hot kitchen between 11:30 – 16:00 and 18:00 – 20:30 .

The evening offer is complemented by our daily changing evening menu.

Stüva Chünetta

Already early in the morning at 7:30 a.m., the Stüva Chünetta invites you to enjoy a good coffee and a piece of the famous «tuorta da nusch fat in chesa» in a relaxed atmosphere and with great attention to detail.

At lunchtime you can enjoy a delicious, quick lunch and in the evening we will pamper you with a little more dignified hospitality, candlelight and Swiss stone pine.

From 3 p.m. the Stüva Chünetta is usually closed. We will be happy to pamper you between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. in the Sela Cambrena.

Stüva Bellavista

The Stüva Bellavista is the smallest Stüva in light blue and with a large window front from which you can enjoy a brilliant view of the Bellavista-mountain.

Be it for a small banquet or a romantic get-together – Great enjoyment is guaranteed.

The Stüva Bellavista is usually open for dinner from 6 p.m..

Sela Cambrena

The large Sela Cambrena invites you every morning to a hearty breakfast buffet. Here you will find everything that will delight your heart and soul. Starting with our large, fresh bread selection from the local bakery, the rich cheese- and meat platters and our homemade Bircher muesli. Enjoy the delicious breakfast while the first rays of sunshine tickle your nose through the large windows.

The Sela Cambrena is also the afternoon parlor for coffee, cake and snacks, as soon as the evening preparations start in the two small rooms.

The Sela Cambrena is perfect for larger events. Whether weddings, birthdays, family celebrations or company dinners: The Sela Cambrena can accommodate up to 70 people. Call us, write to us or come by in person. We will make your event an unforgettable experience.

Our terrace

The most beautiful terrace with a wonderful view of the glaciated mountains is waiting for you. Take a seat, lean back and enjoy the warm rays of sunshine, the fresh mountain air, the friendly service and the excellent food to the full. You deserve it. The famous Rhaetian Railway chugs past again and again. A dreamlike sight that fully lives up to the Graubünden- cliché.

In the morning for a warm Gipefli, at lunch for delicious mountain dishes such as Pizzocherie and Capuns or in the afternoon for coffee and homemade cakes – we leave nothing to be desired! Strengthened and happy and with the desire to come back here soon, you set off – be it for an upcoming mountain tour, a racy bike ride or a leisurely stroll. The desire is not only on your part, we also can hardly wait to pamper you again soon!
